Oh, my! What will we ever do? Obama told us she is too unqualified to act if we came under attack.
Well, in the words of Paul Harvey … Now you know the rest of the story.

This has all the earmarks of a hoax chain email.
The tell-tale sign, besides the “Paul Harvey” reference is that national defense assets like the Ft. Greely missile interceptors are not the responsibility of state governors. Those functions come under the regular U.S. military chain of command.
Secondly, from globalsecurity.org: “The 49th Missile Defense Battalion (GMD) was activated on January 22, 2004 at Fort Greely. The battalion will provide operational control and security over ground-based interceptors located in Alaska to protect the nation from limited ballistic missile attacks. Alaska National Guard Soldiers will man the battalion as part of their homeland defense mission. ”
It is headquartered in Colorado Springs, CO.
So, Gov. Palin is NOT the CinC of the 49th missile battalion.

I can assure you that the comments made are correct. The only one I cannot speak to from personal knowledge is regarding Governor Palin’s briefings. And it appears globalsecurity has it wrong as my unit was formed in 2003. As a National Guard unit we all swear an oath of allegiance to the Governor and the President. In matters of State the governor is our Commander in Chief. Of course the unit falls under a higher command as all units do and so there is a higher element that is outside Alaska just as my old unit (3rd Brigade 2nd ID) was based in Washington State but headquartered in Korea.
