Menu and Recipes for the Inaugural Luncheon

Menu and Recipes for the Inaugural Luncheon

Recipes

Today history was made. Barrack Hussein Obama was sworn in as our 44th President of the United States. I though some of you might be interested in what is being served at the Luncheon and the Recipe’s. How cool is that? He did an outstanding job on his speech. He has looked so Presidential all day. Mrs. Obama-another story. She is dressed nice and waves nice but I don’t think she realizes the camera is on her all the time. She is always looking down and fidgeting and her hair covers her face and she just doesn’t have the grace that Laura Bush had. Of course George W. wasn’t very Presidential like Obama is. Oh well, give and take I guess. Maybe she will grow into the the role! I hope so.

Seafood stew with lobster, scallops, shrimp and black cod under puff pastry. Served with a 2007 Duckhorn Vineyards Sauvignon Blanc from California’s Napa Valley.

Pheasant and duck with sour cherry chutney and molasses sweet potatoes, served with a 2005 Goldeneye Pinot Noir from California’s Anderson Valley.

Apple cinnamon sponge cake and sweet cream glace, served with Korbel Natural “Special Inaugural Cuvee” California Champagne.

You can download the recipes from the Web site of the Joint Congressional Committee on Inaugural Ceremonies.  Each Recipe serves 10 people.
